More than a week of FC Bayern München has traveled across the US to promote in this important international market for itself. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (60) was in Chicago, Charlotte and New York as the team in continuous use. "The expectations have been exceeded," the CEO says in an interview in which he also spoke to BVB.

Has the US trip without stars such as Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer, Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski athletic, advertising standard and also for making money served its purpose?

The expectations have been exceeded. The team has sold well. Already in the Games in Chicago and Charlotte could see that we have a huge following here in America. It was amazing how many fans were in a Bayern shirt in the stadium, and I'm surprised at how many followers we have gained in the United States. That to me is the proof that it was the right decision to open an office in New York, 2014. Our people make there a great job. We flew with 70 employees from the departments sponsoring, marketing, media and tourism in the United States. The Audi Summer Tour is certainly demanding, but it is well organized. And not only our football team is good, also the team behind it. For more football news, please check out online where you can find the latest news and information.

Carlo Ancelotti had argued that the EM participants were fully renounce the US trip. He has collected the same times bonus points when Thomas Müller and Co.. Is he just a clever coach?

He is basically a clever fellow. Of course it depends on all players to be good if you give them more holiday. But the philosophy of our organization was and is: football comes before marketing. On this formula, nothing will change! However, we have to earn the money that we invest in our squad. And it hold in the current quality, is very costly.

In a high volume players like Thomas Müller could feel at the European Championship that he something like a "footballing burnout" was the first time. Are you worried about him?

Thomas was the player who had the most games in the past season. When Bayern Munich and in the national team he has made almost every game. At the European Championships he has then first felt fatigue. We must be careful in football that is not overtightened. Specifically, the international federations worries me. They pump their contests on and on. There are world and European tournaments, there is the UEFA Nations Cup, there is the Confederations Cup. Players can no longer durchschnaufen. I appeal to FIFA and UEFA: It is the time has come for less politics and more football.
